No no no ... I added my experience in there with a Jasper engine. (on topic!) I just posted the comment after that because my Meds have not kicked in yet this morning!

I have the stock intake on it right down to the paper filter. It runs so much better that way. The one thing I would suggest is opening up the air box some how. Either by drilling a hole in the bottom or opening it up to the fender well. Other then that leave well enough alone. The only time a Cai is beneficial to these motors is with a custom tune. They actually pull quite a bit of fuel out from what I was told.

What did you end up paying for the 5.4? I just bought a 2000 f250 with a seized 5.4 and I am thinking of tackling the replacement of it. I see the engine at junk yards for 1200+ just don't want to pay for someone else's crap and get stuck.

Go to a reputable junk yard like Saw Mill Auto Wreckers I have installed many engines from them and never had a problem. (914) 968-5300 Ask for Joe D and tell him Keith from Quality sent you

x2, except I only deal with Anthony. x114

Probably gotten at least 10 full motors from them since the beginning of the year, all still running no problems...

Checked them out, they didn't have anything. :-(
They got one near me but they want 1400 for it and I thought that was a little expensive for a used motor with 80k miles on it.
